Telecine

The act of converting film-based content to video-based recording or transmission formats. For NTSC, it is the act of converting 24 frames per second (fps) of film to 29.97 fps of video. For PAL or SECAM, it is the act of a 1:1 frame rate conversion, as European film and analog television both use a standard frame rate of 25 fps.
