True HD

The industry brand name for consumer 1080p monitors that meet at least the 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 Hz refresh rates. Later versions of 1080p monitors included 120 Hz and 240 Hz, which increased the refresh frequency. These monitors were also called True HD and yieled a smoother, yet not necessarily higher quality 1080p image. A similar term TrueHD was a Dolby Laboratories term for specific audio formatting.
