Ackerman McQueen Moves to Encoding.com for High-Volume Video Encoding with Superior Quality and Lower Cost

Ackerman McQueen advertising agency selects Encoding.com to power its video encoding - saves thousands of dollars, improves quality and turnaround time.

San Francisco, CA(02 Mar 2011)

Encoding.com, the world's largest video encoding service provider, today announced that it has been selected by top advertising agency Ackerman McQueen (AM) to power its video encoding solution, replacing its in-house encoding farm.  The switch to Encoding.com has resulted in substantial improvements in both video quality and turnaround time, while saving AM thousands of dollars.  By leveraging Encoding.com's services, including cloud-based scalability, AM is now able to easily and reliably deliver high-volume video deployments for its clients in advocacy, travel/tourism, law, healthcare, entertainment, the arts, manufacturing, and private industry.

Ackerman McQueen, a full-service interactive, digital, branding and traditional advertising agency, has seen demand for high-volume video projects grow ten fold over the past 18 months. AM's previous in-house encoding investment included capital expenses for hardware and software, plus staff, to manage the labor-intensive process of video encoding.   Engineers were required to constantly monitor the process: optimizing encoding settings, making trade-offs between video quality and file size, and restarting systems that crashed.

"Before discovering Encoding.com we spent countless hours on video encoding.  It was a painfully long, error-prone process that was holding us back," said John Nicholas, EVP, Interactive.  "With Encoding.com we are saving an enormous amount of time and associated expense, while benefiting from ultimate scalability, superior quality, and the assurance of a seamless transition to encoding for new display devices as we help our clients move to new platforms."

"Ackerman McQueen is a textbook example of the work Encoding.com does with agencies to simplify and automate encoding, and empower them to successfully manage increased video production demand from their clients," said Jeff Malkin, President of Encoding.com.  "Our engineering resources focus on delivering a scalable, reliable, and continuously-updated platform for transcoding content, so that our clients can focus on delivering vast volumes of high-quality content."
