ACC Digital Network Launches Programming on Roku

Expands fan access to official ACC highlights and programming through adRise partnership

Charlotte, NC(29 Aug 2013)

The ACC Digital Network (ACCDN) officially announced today its launch on Roku as part of a strategic partnership with adRise, the largest content distribution and advertising monetization engine for streaming and connected TV devices. The agreement makes available the ACCDN’s extensive sports programming and highlights to the Roku streaming platform and represents the next step in the ACCDN expansion into the streaming and connected TV arena.

This collaboration comes on the heels of explosive, record-setting growth in connected TV consumption. The number of TV connections to the Internet will reach nearly 600 million by 2017 -- the U.S. will contribute to more than 1/3 of that with 147 million by 2017. The key driver:  viewers being able to watch what they want, when they want, and reporting high satisfaction rates (Digital TV Research Report). Moreover, the Connected TV viewer represents the most engaged, content-inquisitive, media savvy consumer ready to discover and consume new content.

ACC sports fans with a Roku streaming player can access the channel by simply going to the Roku channel store, browsing under the sports category and then adding The ACC Digital Network channel.

After initially integrating with Roku, the ACCDN plans to expand onto additional platforms using adRise's turn-key, one-step solution for distributing content onto streaming boxes similar to Roku and Smart TV's.

“As we enter our third season with the ACC Digital Network, we have expanded our distribution so that it is available on many web and mobile platforms,” said Matt Carstens, EVP and GM of the ACCDN for Silver Chalice. “With the addition of this partnership, we will continue extending our reach into the fast-growing streaming TV space. The timing for the ACC Digital Network launch on Roku is ideal, as we look to the beginning of the 2013 college football season.”

"Streaming and connected devices have seen a massive growth in viewership in the past few years and this has created a huge opportunity, especially for premium content owners, to reach a larger audience and establish a brand as a digital TV destination. We're excited to partner with an innovative media company such The ACC Digital Network." said Farhad Massoudi, CEO of adRise.
