Aperi and Video Clarity partner to test high-quality H.264 compression at VidTrans 2018

Pioneer of live native-IP media processing will also present on IP: fact vs fiction

Camarillo, CA(27 Feb 2018)

Aperi, the pioneer of native-IP live media processing, will present several technology demonstrations throughout the VidTrans 2018 including its latest live sports remote production platform. At the conference and exhibition, the company will also be partnering with Video Clarity to show the quality of Aperi’s H.264 compression app as well as hosting a presentation session on IP: fact vs fiction

The demonstration with fellow exhibitor Video Clarity, will see the audio and video quality measurement specialist test the quality of Aperi’s H.264 compression app, live on the stand. While putting the app’s compression to the test, this demo will also show how compression can be analyzed when operating in live IP-centric infrastructures to ensure optimal media compression and transport.

“The whole aim of compression is to make sure media transport is as efficient as possible,” said Joop Janssen, Aperi’s ceo. “So, by demonstrating the compression allowed by our H.264 app to visitors, we’ll be able to show how much faster native-IP and software-based functionalities can make media transport in today’s live environments.”

Also at the show, Aperi’s VP business development Andrew Osmond will be presenting a session titled: sorting the fact from the fiction – IP and software-based live video transport. During this presentation Andrew will show that skepticism around IP’s suitability for live productions is unwarranted, citing several real-world deployments. The session will educate visitors on the true value of IP which can only be realized when coupled with the agility of software-based solutions.

Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to see demonstrations of Aperi’s live remote production technology and several apps created using Aperi’s unique software-based media processing technologies.  All the apps available from the Aperi app store are virtualized functions which can be added to a software-based production infrastructure and used with a floating license, negating redundancy and expense when equipment or functionality isn’t needed.

With security hugely important within IP delivery, the company will also showcase the latest in its IP security solutions including real-time network address translation, RTP packet and media inspection and firewalling, as well as new fail-over technologies.

VidTrans 2018 takes places between February 27 – March 1 at the Marina del Rey Marriott in Los Angeles, California.
