Axle Adds Mobile, Avid support to Radically Simple Workflow

Axle 2014 lets users on laptops, tablets, and smartphones use media and collaborate anywhere

Axle Video,the company redefining media management,today announced axle 2014, the newest version of its award-winning media management software, featuring much faster performance, up to 300,000 assets, optimized iPhone and Android support, and support for localized user interfaces. In addition, axle announced availability of the new axle Gear Pro configuration with support for the Avid Media Composer family of editors.

The new mobile interface, included with Axle 2014, lets team members search for assets, navigate the folders on their shared storage, and review and approve video assets.  It complements Axle's existing support for the iPad and nearly all PC/Mac desktop browsers, by providing a tailored mobile experience for quickly finding and checking media.  Axle's lineup of new and upgraded products being demonstrated at NAB 2014 includes:

  • Axle 2014- New: Building on axle's easy-to-use, web-based UI, and compatibility with almost every type of storage and operating system, Axle 2014 is the latest in the award-winning company's core software offerings. Axle 2014 offers much faster UI speed, increased asset scale, iPhone and Android support, and support for localized user interfaces.      
  • Axle Gear Pro - New: An integrated package of Axle Pro media management software with support for Avid media, Telestream Episode Pro software for proxy creation and transcoding, and two Mac Mini server CPUs in a single 1U rack mount chassis. This is the Pro version of Axle's Gear appliance which won DV Magazine's Black Diamond best of show award at NAB 2013.      
  • Axle GearStack - NAB Debut: An integrated package of Axle Gear configurations coupled with baseband and file-based ingest appliances from MOG Technologies, a leader in broadcast ingest systems.  GearStack allows high-volume media ingest and live logging to feed directly into an Axle search, browse, select, review and approve workflow.     
  • Axle Gear for Adobe Anywhere - NAB Debut: The Axle Gear media management solution including Telestream Episode Pro transcoding software and dual Mac Mini servers, with specific integration for Adobe Anywhere users, allowing them tobrowse, annotate, collaborate on, review, and approve media from any location. This is the first turnkey media management solution available for Adobe Anywhere.
