Bottle Rocket Helps NPR Further its “News Everywhere” Strategy with the Launch of NPR One for Apple TV

National news organization comes home to Bottle Rocket where the company’s first mobile app was born.

Dallas, TX(03 Aug 2017)

Recently, National Public Radio, widely known as NPR, announced the inclusion of its NPR One app on Apple TV. Through the addition of this platform and a variety of other announcements by the news giant, NPR is extending its reach and truly offering its customers the ability to enjoy NPR content anywhere at any time. Bottle Rocket is proud to be a long-standing partner of the award-winning news organization and is pleased to have been a part of the launch of the organization’s first venture onto Apple TV.

The Bottle Rocket-built solution allows users to select news stories and podcasts based on their own personal interests, thus extending the NPR One personalization engine and enabling connection to NPR stations and content throughout a listener's home or business. The NPR One app for Apple TV provides access to over 900 network radio stations serving up a personalized blend of local, national and global news, as well as hundreds of curated podcasts from the convenience of your living room, kitchen or family room.

Dallas-based Bottle Rocket Studios not only helped bring this new Apple TV experience to life, but was right by NPR’s side when it launched its first mobile app back in 2009. NPR for iPad was Bottle Rocket’s first client, a partnership that not only resulted in the agency’s first App Store Hall of Fame recognition for its NPR News app, but also helped fuel our growth from a once small mobile shop into the 200+ and growing, world-class mobile experience company we are today. Eight years later, we remain proud of the work and our continued partnership with NPR. And, we are thrilled to help one of our favorite brands and cornerstone clients extend their journey, establishing a presence across the entire Apple ecosystem.

“NPR’s partnership with Bottle Rocket originated in the earliest days of the iPhone. We’re thrilled to work with them again to bring NPR One alive on the big screen with Apple TV,” said Joel Sucherman, NPR’s Senior Director of Digital Products.

“For Bottle Rocket, we like to think of it as a homecoming of sorts. Our work with NPR over the years has allowed us to bring our passion for the brand to life and demonstrate our continued leadership in the world of mobile experiences. We believe the launch of this new Apple TV app will further bring important, relevant and timely news to more and more households around the country and we couldn’t be more excited and proud to have been a part of this journey,” said Calvin Carter, Founder and CEO of Bottle Rocket.
