Clearleap appoints Joe Oesterling as Chief Operating Officer
Key Hire Brings Seasoned Technology and Operations Experience Amid Rapid Global Expansion
ATLANTA, GA(08 May 2014)
Clearleap, the leading provider of multiscreen video logistics for the television industry, today announced it has expanded its executive team, appointing Joe Oesterling as Chief Operating Officer. Joe most recently served as the EVP of Technology and Operations for Cbeyond, Inc., an Atlanta-based managed service provider focused on delivering “big business” communications, cloud, and IT services to small and mid sized businesses across the United States. In this newly created position at Clearleap, Oesterling will further develop and scale Clearleap’s engineering and operational processes and systems, while assisting in managing the company’s rapid global expansion. He will also lead recruiting efforts for technology professionals, while reporting to CEO Braxton Jarratt. This appointment comes at a time of accelerated growth for Clearleap, which raised a $20 million round of funding in November 2013, and is aggressively growing its team with plans to add 150 new employees this year.
With more than two decades of experience as a senior technology executive, Oesterlinghas demonstrated his ability to build and operate large, complex technology environments. In his 14 years at Cbeyond, he was instrumental in scaling the business from a startup to $500M in revenue and taking the company through the IPO process. He was a key leader in creating the managed services business and led the implementation of a company-wide transformation effort to become a leader in the networked cloud space for small to mid-sized businesses. Prior to Cbeyond, Oesterling held IT leadership roles with Capital One and Security Capital Group. He also led multiple IT strategy and business process reengineering engagements with companies in the financial and telecommunications industries while working for Booz Allen and Hamilton. Joe has been recognized as Georgia CIO of the Year (2006) and Association of Telecommunications Professionals Industry Leadership award winner (2011). He has been very active in the Atlanta technology community the past decade, and Joe is currently a Board Member of TechBridge (techbridge.org),a nonprofit that drives community impact by bringing affordable business & technology expertise to other nonprofits.
"Having a strong background in technology services, I immediately recognized the power, value and potential of Clearleap’s platform. Today, more than ever, the Pay TV industry needs to be on its toes and constantly adapting to new systems, formats and ultimately, consumer needs," said Oesterling. “Clearleap has been a true pioneer in the multiscreen video space, and they are helping to set the tone for a rapidly growing industry. I'm a big believer in its mission and core values, and I’m excited to be joining the team when the company is experiencing such incredible momentum."
"The success and growth we've achieved at Clearleap in the last few years further validates our mission to ease the complexities content owners and service providers face in deploying multiscreen and OTT initiatives,” said Clearleap CEO Braxton Jarratt. “Adding Joe's strong leadership and unparalleled technical experience to our team will help fuel our continued success and expansion in the U.S. and abroad."
