Codemill enhances Accurate Video with new Amazon Rekognition Video support

Codemill, an Amazon Partner Network (APN) Select Technology Partner, today released new integration between its Accurate Video suite and the Media Analysis functionality found in Amazon Rekognition Video, to accelerate remote content workflow efficiencies

Umea, Sweden(07 Dec 2020)

Broadcasters and studios are now adopting a “cloud first” strategy, to benefit from elasticity of the cloud, to scale up and down, based on user demand or specific events, and the desire to work collaboratively, via a global workforce. As a result, web native tools like Accurate Video for Amazon Rekognition are replacing legacy on-premise desktop applications and traditional hardware, enabling operators to frame-accurately playback high quality video, with multiple audio tracks and subtitles, to check content and visualise metadata from any remote location, using a standard laptop.

Amazon Rekognition Video is a Machine Learning service with advanced functionality, tailored to the needs of the content creation industry. New Media Analysis functionality includes the automatic detection of shot changes, along with the identification of black segments, colour bars and end credits, enabling operators to more efficiently perform tasks such as content preparation, ad insertion, or adding ‘binge-markers’ to content at scale in the cloud.

This combination of Accurate Video, integrated with Amazon Rekognition, enables users to more easily prepare and verify content from anywhere in the world, and drastically reduces manual effort, by automating traditionally laborious processes.

“Tasks such as finding where the end credits begin in a piece of content, choosing the right spots to insert ads, or breaking up videos into smaller clips for better indexing or automatic sub-clipping,  can now be done from a laptop wherever you are. Our customers can now accelerate their content verification and distribution workflows, scaling up and down really easily” adds Rickard Lönneborg, CEO Codemill.
