Wallingford, CT(03 Jun 2013)
Discover Video, LLC (www.discovervideo.com), a leader in video streaming products and solutions, today announced “Streamsie” a new video streaming app for iPads. Streamsie instantly sends live video from Apple iPad to the Discover Video DEVOS or Arcus system, or to virtually any Flash-compatible live streaming server or CDN. The video stream can be viewed by anyone on a PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone.
While Streamsie is great for consumers, it is also designed to be part of the Discover Video DEVOS ecosystem. DEVOS is a streaming server and portal available for on-site installation or as a cloud-based solution that allows organizations to deliver live and on-demand video. DEVOS is popular with educational institutions, and Streamsie can be used as a very low cost encoder for capturing classroom lectures, live events, or even live sports. Streamsie joins Discover Video's award winning "DVME" as another way to capture live and on-demand content.
"Our customers have been asking for live streaming from iOS" said Rich Mavrogeanes, Discover Video CEO. "Schools want to use iPad for morning announcements, corporations want to provide live, mobile, just-in-time training, and others want to broadcast live events while on the road. The applications are just endless."
Streamsie is the first high quality live video streaming App that supports long duration in-sync audio/video and it is not tethered to a just one video distribution system. This allows Streamsie to be used with Discover Video's platforms, but also with Akamai, Limelight, Edgecast and other CDN's, and with customer's live streaming servers such as Adobe FMS, Wowza, Helix, and others. It supports "autorotation", allowing you to stream in both landscape or portrait mode automatically and supports a wide selection of streaming rates and resolutions.
Streamsie costs only $9.95 from iTunes store. It joins the free Discover Video DVUploader App for iOS that compresses and uploads recorded camera video.
