Elemental Powers Cloud Video Processing for Access Digital Entertainment

Australian OTT leader uses Elemental Cloud to dynamically scale video processing capacity

Amsterdam, The Netherlands(12 Sep 2013)

Elemental Technologies, the leading supplier of video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, today announced that Access Digital Entertainment is using Elemental Cloud to power two new video streaming services. Earlier this summer, the Sydney-based over-the-top television (OTT) retailer used Elemental Cloud to launch ezyflix.tv, Australia’s first UltraViolet-enabled video-on-demand and electronic sell-through service for connected devices. Access Digital Entertainment plans to use Elemental Cloud to expand its streaming services across Europe with the launch of WowHD.tv later in 2013.

Access Digital Entertainment video processing requirements are ideally suited to Elemental Cloud, a Platform as a Service (PaaS) built to securely manage high-volume video solutions with scale and elasticity. The platform provides Access Digital Entertainment with rapid provisioning of video processing systems to convert content libraries in support of time-compressed service launches. Upon completion, resources can be immediately scaled down, allowing the company to precisely align video processing capacity with ongoing monthly release schedules.

“We give people an unprecedented content viewing and sharing experience -- but without the complexities of other services. And we’re doing it in a way that satisfies the stringent content protection requirements of studios and networks,” said Craig White, CEO of Access Digital Entertainment. “The Elemental Cloud architecture offers an ideal solution for processing professional video within a dynamic, reliable and highly secure environment.”

“Access Digital Entertainment is an innovative OTT company using Elemental Cloud to process a massive library of premium media assets while economically balancing resources required for their video services today and going forward.” said Dan Marshall, senior vice president of worldwide sales and service for Elemental. “This use case is a perfect example of the power and flexibility of our platform.”

Elemental is demonstrating its full suite of advanced video processing solutions at the IBC 2013 Conference and Exhibition September 13-17 in Hall 4, Stand 4.B75 of the Amsterdam RAI. To schedule a meeting with an Elemental representative at the show, please click here.
