Philadelphia, PA(18 Oct 2011)
Universities and colleges across the U.S. are struggling with accessibility for hearing impaired students and stakeholders. Ensemble Video and Automatic Sync Technologies announced today their collaboration to create a seamless captioning capability that can be accessed across an entire campus in a coordinated fashion.
"Our vision is focused on the needs of K-12 and higher education. We are thrilled to collaborate with Automatic Sync to provide a tool for more easily and more cost effectively creating accessible content throughout those institutions", says Andy Covell, the founder and CEO of Symphony Video, Inc., the creator of the Ensemble Video software.
Ensemble Video, which is based on technology developed at Syracuse University, has the flexibility and feature set that today's progressive educational organizations need. Ensemble Video version 3.2 was recently released, and it has a suite of features that were developed with direct participation from institutions such as the Syracuse University, the University of Illinois, Clemson University, and Colgate University.
Seamless captioning is slated for the next release of Ensemble Video(1Q2012) with built-in controls for Automatic Sync's fee-based captioning service, CaptionSync. With these enhanced capabilities, institutions can aggregate captioning volumes for greater discounts enabling them to create more accessible content faster, while leveraging already stretched budgets.
"At Automatic Sync, we recognize the challenges that institutions face as they try to caption more and more content. This collaboration offers tremendous value for customers in addressing those challenges," according to Brent Robertson, Automatic Sync Founder who is leading the technical integration effort.
