Entercom Communications Selects RAMP for Online Audio and Video Platform, Integrated with Microsoft SharePoint for Internal Applications

Solution powers access to and monetization of podcasts for leading broadcaster

Boston, MA(17 Sep 2014)

RAMP, the industry’s leading provider of next-generation search and online media experiences, today announced that radio communications company, Entercom Communications Corp. (NYSE: ETM), has selected RAMP’s media content management platform and hosting services to publish and market its enterprise video and audio assets online.  Using RAMP’s solution, Entercom’s podcasts are now available to visitors to its many web properties and videos are available to editors nationwide using the company’s internal content management system, SharePoint 2010.

Previously, editors across Entercom’s more than 100 stations were struggling to create online, web experiences for podcast listeners from scratch.  This required redundant, custom development work and relevant assets from one station were often invisible to another.  With the RAMP solution, Entercom is now bridging consumer and enterprise search experiences with one federated search accessible via the web and via SharePoint. This allows editors and advertisers across Entercom to easily discover content for their sites and make it accessible to their online visitors.  Now, a station in Seattle can leverage content from Boston to expand their editorial and promotional reach and that means more web visitors and more digital advertising revenue.

“RAMP offers a full gamut of solutions for audio and video – both for managing audio and video content within our organization and for leveraging our audio and video content to drive traffic to our web properties,” said John Graefe, Chief Information Officer, Entercom Communications Corp.  “Internally, the RAMP platform natively integrates with our SharePoint implementation, so we didn’t have to introduce another tool to our editors just for audio and video. RAMP has also supercharged the discoverability, engagement and monetization of our content at WEEI.comand our many other local properties.”

“Entercom is a great example of the potential for enterprises to use audio and video content for turbo-charging their web sites even as they leverage the same technology to increase productivity and enhance communications in their internal operations,” said Tom Wilde, CEO, RAMP.  “Thanks to RAMP’s native integration in SharePoint and our unique viewer and listener experience features, Entercom is giving editors access to the media content they need while simultaneously using that content to market to and to monetize their online communities.  It’s a win-win for everyone.”

RAMP’s integrated enterprise video solution for SharePoint is available for Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Online/2013 and provides end-to-end content management for all of a company’s multi-media files, from audio to video, text, and image.  Learn more at www.ramp.com
