FandangoNOW Debuts on Amazon Fire TV Devices

Los Angeles(26 Feb 2020)

FandangoNOW, Fandango’s on-demand streaming service, announced today that it is now available on Amazon Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition Smart TVs. Users of the popular streaming media devices will now be able to watch content that has been purchased or rented from FandangoNOW’s online collection of over 100,000 movies right out of theaters, catalog films and next-day TV shows with no subscription required.

New this week on FandangoNOW are the critically-acclaimed films, “Bombshell” and “Uncut Gems,” both available for purchase, plus Rian Johnson’s Oscar-nominated whodunit, “Knives Out,” newly available for rental.

An early adopter of 4K, FandangoNOW offers the most comprehensive collection of 4K UltraHD movies among on-demand video providers, and FandangoNOW’s 4K content can be streamed on one of Fire TV’s many 4K UHD streaming devices, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K or Fire TV Cube. On average, more than 20% of FandangoNOW’s movie rentals and sales come from 4K when made available in that format on the service.

“At FandangoNOW, we want to deliver the highest quality movies and TV shows to our customers on all their devices,” says Cameron Douglas, Head of FandangoNOW. “Fire TV was one of our most requested devices, and we are excited to be able to offer FandangoNOW to Amazon customers.”

In 2019, FandangoNOW experienced double-digit growth in both sales and new users. While FandangoNOW is already available on Roku, Google Chromecast, Android, iOS, LG, Samsung, Sony and VIZIO Smart TVs, Xbox and many others, the streaming service has expanded its distribution on several new devices. In addition to Amazon Fire TV devices, Fandango has launched FandangoNOW on Facebook’s Portal TV and on Oculus VR headsets (with a large collection of 3D titles).

According to The NPD Group*, FandangoNOW is among the top three transactional streaming services based on U.S. household TV-connected device reach.
