Social Media Studio Further Strengthens Fullscreen’s Leadership in Custom Content Production and Distribution
New York, NY and Los Angeles, Calif.(04 May 2015)
Global media company Fullscreen today announced the acquisition of McBeard during its debut NewFront presentation. By acquiring the social media studio, Fullscreen further strengthens its ability to develop, produce and distribute social content at scale on behalf of its creator network, content production units and major brand partners.
With a growing team of more than 100 full-time copywriters, designers and strategists, the Los Angeles-based McBeard creates custom social media content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest and Snapchat for a high-profile client roster that includes Coca-Cola, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Mary Kay, NBC Universal, Warner Bros., Mattel and Netflix. Additionally, McBeard collaborates with Fullscreen on AT&T programs “@SummerBreak” and “SnapperHero,” the first scripted series produced for Snapchat.
“The way people consume content today is dramatically different, so it’s important to create differently in order to reach them,” said George Strompolos, Founder and CEO of Fullscreen. “The McBeard team has mastered the art and science of creating social content that people love to engage with and share. This acquisition gives Fullscreen and our partners the ability to reach people across every social platform through compelling native content and storytelling at scale. We’re thrilled to welcome Alan, Alec and the McBeard team to Fullscreen.”
“Fullscreen and McBeard have a shared vision–that successful branded social content must first serve fans,” said Alan Beard, Co-founder and CEO of McBeard. “We’ve grown fast by assembling a team of social media enthusiasts who create branded content at scale, and Fullscreen’s resources will allow us to grow even faster.” Co-founder and CCO Alec McNayr added, “This allows us to instantly serve our clients better, bolster our video production and media buying offerings, and integrate with Fullscreen’s world-class influencer network.”
In the true spirit of the deal, Strompolos, Beard and McNayr executed the agreement this morning via Snapchat.
The McBeard acquisition will strengthen Fullscreen’s ability to develop full-service content programs for creators and brands, including cross-platform storytelling, social asset creation and social media distribution.
McBeard will operate as a fully-integrated subsidiary of Fullscreen. The company will continue to focus on producing premium and shareable content for brands and creators.
