Gcore to Showcase CDN and AI Innovations for Broadcasting at Scale at IBC 2024

AI advancements in speech recognition and content moderation highlighted on stand 5.H14

Luxembourg(10 Jul 2024)

Gcore, the global edge AI, cloud, network, and security solutions provider, will be demonstrating the significant benefits of its CDN and edge solutions for live streaming and broadcasting at this year’s IBC exhibition. The company will also showcase newly launched AI features, including speech recognition and content moderation, designed to drive innovation in broadcasting.

Gcore, an IBC ‘Content Everywhere’ exhibitor, serves a diverse market including sports, entertainment, media broadcasting, and OTT streaming services. The company’s customers benefit from Gcore’s extensive global infrastructure with over 180 points of presence, which enables seamless content delivery and efficient video distribution worldwide.

To highlight the performance and efficiency of Gcore CDN, the company will demonstrate its collaboration with a leading sports broadcaster to enhance its streaming services, elevate customer experience, and boost engagement.

In addition, Anastasia Melnikova, Solution Architect for Streaming at Gcore, will take part in a panel discussion on next-gen CDN and AI infrastructure for broadcasting at scale.

Gcore AI Content Moderation

Launched in July 2024, AI Content Moderation allows online service providers to automate the moderation of audio, text, and user-generated video content without requiring prior AI or ML experience. It helps improve user safety and ensure compliance with regulations such as the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Bill.

At IBC, Gcore will demonstrate how AI Content Moderation uses multiple cutting-edge technologies, such as advanced computer vision, optical character recognition, speech recognition, and multiple-model output aggregation. The company will show how these technologies kick in and begin reviewing videos or live streams within seconds of their publishing.

Gcore Automatic Speech Recognition

Shown for the first time in public since its launch, AI Automatic Speech Recognition (AI ASR) will also be featured at the Gcore stand during IBC. The new technology uses AI to automate the transcription and translation of captions and subtitles. This service seamlessly integrates into Gcore workflows, enabling broadcasters, VoD providers, live streaming platforms, and enterprise content owners to expand their reach to new global audiences.

By speeding up the delivery of subtitles, AI ASR is ideal for live news, real-time sports events, or live TV shows. It significantly enhances the accessibility of content for audiences that speak different languages and those with hearing impairments.

Supporting 100+ languages, and with accuracy levels matching or exceeding those of humans, AI ASR enables broadcasters to focus on fast subtitle generation for their content, without the need for fine-tuning AI models.

Alexey Petrovskikh, Head of Video Streaming at Gcore, said: “We are excited to unveil our latest innovative AI-based solutions at IBC and showcase content delivery across our extensive network. We are raising the bar on how AI can enhance live streaming and broadcast services for global companies. IBC is the perfect stage to demonstrate these advancements.”
