Galax, VA(18 Jan 2015)

The Streaming Learning Center announced the immediate availability of Encoding for Multiple Screen Delivery,an online course hosted by Udemy and produced by streaming expert Jan Ozer. The course includes a PDF version of Ozer’s 5-star rated book, Producing Streaming Video for Multiple Screen Delivery. The course costs $29, but for a limited time, you can buy the course for $24.99 by entering the coupon code MSD_book when you purchase, or by clicking here to buy the course.

In about three hours of instruction, the course teaches students how to encode for delivery to single or multiple screens, including computers, mobile devices, retail OTT devices like Roku and Apple TV, as well as smart TVs and set top boxes. The course starts with basics like H.264 and HTML5, then details how to choose among technologies like HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) and Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), and how to configure streams for output for these technologies.

Regarding the course, June Chris Heider, one of the first students, commented, “After taking this course from start to finish I will say that it was one of the most informative 2.5 hours I've ever spent. The information was presented in a very structured and organized way and I enjoyed seeing the example screenshots and real world information from well-known companies that leverage streaming video at a production scale. The PDF downloads were a nice touch along with the coverages of some of the latest protocols and technologies such as DASH, SME and EME. I highly recommend this course!”
