Kaltura Powers Full Media Management for GRAMMY365 – A New Social Network for Members of The Recording Academy

GRAMMY365 Leverages Kaltura’s Open Source Online Video Platform and Video Module for Drupal for All Video, Audio and Image Capabilities on the New Site

New York, NY(15 Apr 2010)

Kaltura, Inc. (http://www.kaltura.com), developer of the first open source online video platform, announced today that all media on GRAMMY365, a new social networking Web site for members of The Recording Academy (www.grammy.com), will be powered by Kaltura and its open source video module for Drupal. The site leverages Kaltura's full media management platform, including customized video and audio players, uploaders and more.

"We are very excited to create a robust online community complete with social networking tools for all Academy members," said Peter Anton, Vice President of Digital Media for The Recording Academy. "This unique music community experience will provide a platform to communicate, collaborate and participate 365 days a year, giving our members a new outlet and added benefit."

GRAMMY365 will connect Academy members by providing an array of social networking tools. The goal of the site is to provide a means for personal communication between the approximate 22,000 Academy members, creating a proprietary community where members can share, connect and learn from one another. All Academy members will have access to GRAMMY365 where they will be able to create a personal profile page; post status updates as well as audio, video and photo files using Kaltura; participate in forum discussions; and support the community through product, venue and other reviews. Members will have the flexibility to "friend" other members, but also choose levels of privacy with which they're comfortable. Additionally,  Academy news from the national headquarters as well as general industry news will be available to members and non-members. In addition, interactive Chapter pages will allow members to connect with their local offices, add their own post-event photos and comments, and more.

"We see The Recording Academy's selection of our platform as a great vote of confidence in Kaltura's ability to support customized media solutions for unique deployments such as GRAMMY365," said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Chairman & CEO. "The combination of Kaltura's media management capabilities, including video, audio and photos, along with our pre-integrated Drupal module made the GRAMMY365 video solution extremely flexible, customizable and easy to deploy."
