KenCast Unveils CinemaPro 2RU Light at IBC
Amsterdam—IBC 2013(09 Sep 2013)
KenCast will introduce the CinemaPro 2RU appliance at IBC 2013 in Amsterdam. The 2RU model is a lighter and more compact version of the 3RU standard CinemaPro digital cinema appliance. KenCast will also be exhibiting updates on their world-leading Fazzt® digital delivery solutions, including live streaming video, distance learning and signage.
The new 2RU model of the CinemaPro is designed for theaters with less demanding storage and redundancy requirements. The CinemaPro 2RU Light is a 2-rack unit equipped with 4Tbytes of storage provided by 4 HDD bays of which 2 are installed with 2 Tbyte HDDs (storage is expandable from 4Tbytes to 8 Tbytes or higher, with more HDDs and/or large HDDs), a portable HDD to conveniently import and export content, and a solid state drive for the OS and program control.
CEO Bill Steele and staff will be on hand to chat, demonstrate and answer your questions regarding the CinemaPro models and other KenCast technology.
The DCDC CinemaPro appliance is currently used by top-grossing movie houses in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, choosing to upgrade to state-of-the-art content distribution capability for optimal delivery of Hollywood first-run movies to theatres. The CinemaPro is compatible with all digital theatre management systems, including most legacy systems, and enables delivery by satellite or fiber optics of very large movie files and streaming of live events. The CinemaPro also offers simultaneous recording of live events for "time-shifting" with its DVR features, allowing staggered delivery to multiple screens in a cineplex, as well as recording of the event for later play out.
