NewTek has announced that founder, Tim Jenison and CTO, Dr. Andrew Cross will participate in a special live TWiT.tv episode hosted by Leo Laporte, veteran technology broadcaster and founder of TWiT.tv. The program will include an in-depth discussion about major technology advancements in multi-camera video production and live streaming—and a major company announcement that NewTek plans to reveal on the show. The special live stream episode will take place on September 4, 2013 at 4:00pm PT (7:00pm ET), and anyone can view the program by visiting http://live.TWiT.tv/.
“NewTek keeps pushing the envelope to empower Internet broadcasters like us to achieve our dreams. I can’t wait to see what’s next and we are very proud that NewTek has selected us to help share its big news with the world,” said Laporte.
“Leo Laporte has demonstrated that it is possible to rival the broadcast networks with an Internet TV business and set a new streaming standard that is paving the way for other online video producers to follow,” said Cross. “We feel privileged that TriCaster has played a role in TWiT’s success, and we see TWiT.tv as the ideal online broadcasting outlet to help us make a big announcement for our industry on September 4.”
For the past 2 years, TWiT.tv has consistently produced more than 40 hours of original programming each week, supported by advertising and listener donations. The company recently celebrated its two-year anniversary of the TWiT Brick House, the Petaluma, CA-based studio where all recorded and live TWiT shows are produced.
In addition to participating in the special live event at 4:00pm PT (7:00pm ET), Jenison will also appear on TWiT’s popular show, Triangulation, a live weekly program where Laporte talks to some of the smartest people in the world about a range of important and trending technology topics. Viewers can see Jenison on Triangulation at 3:00pm PT (6:00pm ET) on September 4, just one hour prior to the special live event.
