Dorval, Quebec(07 Feb 2020)

Matrox Maevex 6152 features quad 4K decoding, HDCP and low-latency
support, and preset layouts for multi- channel, multi-screen applications.

MONTREAL — February 7, 2020 — Matrox® is pleased to announce the latest addition to the Maevex 6100 Series family: the Matrox Maevex 6152 quad 4K decoder. Built on the same core technology as the award-winning Maevex 6100 encoders, Maevex 6152 decodes up to four 4K streams—or many more lower resolution streams—across up to four 4K displays from a single, standalone appliance. Maevex 6152 also includes HDCP support to decode and display multiple streams of protected content. In addition, the Maevex encoder and decoder pairing offers exceptionally high-quality, low-latency streaming, while Maevex 6152 can be combined with third-party encoders to create new or upgrade existing end-to-end systems.

The Matrox Maevex 6152 decoder will be in action at ISE 2020 at 11-D120, demonstrating its benefits for a wide range of multi-screen decoding applications in digital signage, control rooms, houses of worship, military, medical, and more.

Multi-channel decoding, HDCP support, and more

Packaged in the same whisper-quiet, rack- and display-mount-friendly design as Maevex 6100 Series encoders, the 1U, ½ rack Maevex 6152 decoder provides outstanding decode and display support of up to four 4K low-latency streams across 4K displays. Maevex 6152 offers HDCP support, decoding HDCP content from a variety of sources including external Blu-ray™ players, set-top boxes, and streaming video devices. The quad 4K encoder also includes preset layouts providing users with the flexibility to target up to eight streams on a single screen.

Field-proven management software

Included with all Matrox Maevex 6100 Series encoder and decoder products, the popular Maevex PowerStream Plus AV-over-IP software management tool provides complete reach and control over the entire Maevex network from a single or multiple locations. Maevex PowerStream Plus provides users with an assortment of easy-to-use, drag-and-drop stream and layout selection options, along with available previews for quick and intuitive decoder output configurations. For rapid customization, the PowerStream Plus API for Windows® and Linux® and lower-level REST API are available for integrators and developers looking to create personalized Maevex control applications for deployment in any scenario.

“Matrox Maevex 6152 opens up a wave of multi-screen decoding applications,” said Ron Berty, business development manager at Matrox. “Armed with remarkable flexibility and intuitive configuration tools, the Maevex 6152 decoder empowers users to deploy highly-customizable encode/decode solutions designed to deliver and display any number of streams in many shapes and sizes, quickly and easily.”
