Matrox Announces Professional Video Streaming and Recording Appliance at IBC 2012
Matrox Monarch Provides Simultaneous Live Web Streaming and High-Quality Video Recording
AMSTERDAM (06 Sep 2012)
Matrox today introduced Matrox® Monarch™, a professional video streaming and recording appliance. This small easy-to-use device is configurable via a simple HTML interface using any computer on the same network as the device. It generates an RTP-, UDP-, or RTSP-compliant H.264 stream from any full resolution HDMI input while simultaneously recording high-quality MP4 or MOV files to an SD card, a USB 2.0 flash drive or hard disk, or network storage.
“If an event is worth streaming live, it is worth recording for future use at a higher quality than can typically be streamed. Unfortunately, most of today’s streaming appliances and content delivery networks can only record at the limited data rate that can be sustained by the internet or network connection,” said Daniel Maloney, technical marketing manager at Matrox. “Matrox Monarch solves this problem by providing two independent delivery channels for the input content – one for streaming and one for recording.”
Monarch will be provided at IBC 2012 on the Matrox stand 7.B29.
Availability
Matrox Monarch is expected to be available in Q1 2013.
