Matrox Extio 3 IP KVMs Now Compatible with Ross XPression Studio Product Line

Extio 3 allows broadcast facilities to remotely control XPression CG and graphics systems over LAN or private WAN

Dorval, Quebec(03 Dec 2020)

Matrox® Video is pleased to announce that Matrox Extio™ 3 IP KVM extenders are now compatible with the complete range of Ross XPression Studio real-time motion graphics solutions. Offering IP-based KVM extension and switching support, Extio 3 enables broadcasters to centralize XPression Studio CG and graphics systems in a secure equipment room while users work on high-quality graphics productions from a remote 4K or multi-display station.

“Matrox Extio 3 KVMs with XPression graphics systems allow broadcasters to optimize remote workflows and operator efficiencies,” says Patrick Twomey, Director of XPression Product Marketing, Ross Video. “Securing XPression systems in a dedicated equipment room improves workspace ergonomics, while designers and editors still benefit from high-performance, productivity-enhancing stations that facilitate high-impact productions.”

Graphics workflows over IP

Built from the ground up to be a 3D system, XPression Studio also supports 2D workflows—including clips—and seamlessly composites real-time 3D animation with media assets from today’s latest design applications. Available in 1RU, 2RU, and 4RU form factors, XPression combines seamlessly with Extio 3 IP KVM extenders, allowing users to connect to and control server-room-based systems and remotely produce visually-rich graphics required for news, sports, entertainment, branding, information channels, virtual sets, augmented reality, and more.

IP KVM extension and switching

Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM extenders deliver ultra-low-bitrate 4Kp60 4:4:4, dual 4Kp30 4:4:4, or quad 1080p60 4:4:4 video extension and switching support over a standard Gigabit Ethernet network. This KVM-over-IP technology enables users to access, share, and manage one or more centralized servers and/or workstations—located in a different room, building, campus, or city—all from a single 4K/multi-display station, optimizing operator uptime, collaboration, and productivity. Extio 3 also offers advanced security features, ensuring secure and safe transmission of all audio, video, and USB signals over the network.

“Broadcast environments built on Ross XPression systems can now integrate Matrox Extio 3 KVMs to control their systems over LAN or private WAN,” said Francesco Scartozzi, VP of Sales and Business Development, Broadcast and Media Group at Matrox Video. “Extio 3 empowers users with uncompromised, all-access XPression system, keyboard, and touchscreen connectivity so that they can thrive in efficient and creative productions, even from a distance.”
