Mirror Image, a leading provider of edge computing, streaming and content delivery solutions, today announced the commercial availability of Publisher 5.0, the next version of the company’s popular online video publishing solution. Publisher 5.0 offers robust video management features that are already in use with some of the largest broadcasters in the world. The release features a new User Interface, and a public API that gives broadcasters open access to all Publisher 5.0 services and functionality, allowing for seamless integration with their existing applications.

Publisher 5.0 supports a wide variety of video codecs for ingest including: AVID, MPEG-4, Apple ProRES, Uncompressed 4:2:2, XDCAM, DVCPRO HD, and more. In addition, Publisher 5.0 can encode media in video formats that include: AAC, AVI, 3GP, FLV, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPEG, OGG, WAV, WEBM, WMA, WMV, and many more.

Publisher 5.0 enables companies to integrate their existing applications with our public open access API.
Media Management
Publisher 5.0 provides a variety of options for companies to upload their video assets to Mirror Image’s storage on the Dynamic Delivery Network. Video assets can be organized and grouped in folders when they are uploaded, and tags can be added to assets for organization and automated workflows. These video assets can also be encoded to different formats and bitrates.
Players
Publisher 5.0 includes default players, custom players as well as templates that allow broadcasters to quickly and easily create new custom players from existing templates. And with In-Player Advertising, companies can easily monetize their content with advertising and in-player calls to action. Publisher 5.0’s advanced statistics enable companies to track and analyze their video campaigns, and it can insert advertisements wherever their media plays. The service supports any VAST compliant ad server.
Live Streaming
Publisher 5.0 has powerful live streaming capabilities. Live streams can be transcoded in real time to ensure optimum playback across all device types and networks. Live events can also be recorded for on-demand video.
Stream Monitoring
Publisher 5.0 gives broadcasters the ability to monitor their live video streams as well as on-demand video. Stream Monitoring can be configured so the stream is checked every 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Multiple monitors can be configured for the same stream and alerts can be sent via email and/or SMS. Monitors can be configured to check on-demand video or live streams from any location if provided a URL to the resource.
