My Damn Channel Announces New Original Series: The Bill Murray Show Starring Mark Malkoff
New Weekly Talk Show Premieres August at www.MyDamnChannel.com
NEW YORK(03 Jul 2012)
My Damn Channel and comedian Mark Malkoff have officially announced Mark's latest video adventure: The Bill Murray Show Starring Mark Malkoff.
Like most of the people on planet earth, Mark and everyone at My Damn Channel LOVES actor Bill Murray. This love runs so deep, it birthed a new weekly talk show dedicated to Mark attempting to get Bill Murray to come have dinner at his Queen's apartment.
The Bill Murray Show Starring Mark Malkoff will be taped in Mark's Queens apartment in front of a live studio audience of one: Mark's lovely wife, Christine Peel-Malkoff. Each episode of the fast-paced, short-form, weekly talk show runs less than five minutes, with the series premiere in August. New episodes will be available at www.MyDamnChannel.com/MarkMalkoff and the series won't stop until Mr. Murray grants the show's deepest wish and visits Mark's place for a meal.
“I've always wanted to have Bill Murray over to my apartment for dinner, and I think he'd be a fantastic house guest. I hope he enjoys sushi and Wii bowling,” said Mark, who kicked off his courtship of Mr. Murray in Anaheim last week, during which he called the star’s voicemail and, holding up his cell phone during a keynote speech, had thousands of VidCon attendees shout “Hi, Bill!”
Each week, Mark will make a passionate appeal to Mr. Murray, who can currently be seen in Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, now in theatres. Mark will interview celebrity guests from comedy, television, film and music; Bill Murray fans; and others who've had personal close encounters of the Murray kind.
Viewers will be encouraged to upload videos each week to get Mr. Murray to make Mark's dream come true.
“Every Mark Malkoff project is a labour of love,” said My Damn Channel Founder/CEO Rob Barnett, who will executive produce the series with Malkoff. “We're not sure how long it may take to get our hero to take the plunge and visit our show in Queens, but we're determined to co-create a comic miracle with Bill and his fans.”
The Bill Murray Show Starring Mark Malkoff is one of more than 30 new original comedy series produced by My Damn Channel and premiering in 2012.
About Mark Malkoff
Mark Malkoff is a comedian and filmmaker who has been regularly featured in national news media ranging from The Today Show and Good Morning America to Anderson Cooper 360, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, The Huffington Post, New York Times, NPR, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Mark has starred in many popular videos, including one in which he visited and consumed purchases at all 171 Starbucks locations in Manhattan in less than 24 hours. He achieved worldwide media attention for his video series in which he lived and slept in an IKEA store in Paramus, New Jersey, for an entire week. Mark made headlines again with a video in which he was physically carried 9.4 miles in Manhattan by 155 individuals, disproving the myth that New Yorkers are rude. He successfully brought a goat into the Apple Store to illustrate that they will allow customers to do practically anything. And he conducted a series of “Celebrity Sleepovers” in which he saved money on a long trip to L.A. by convincing stars to let him crash at their place.
Most recently, in “Netflix Challenge” he watched 252 movies on Netflix streaming in one month, a feat no one had ever previously achieved, resulting in the company declaring June 11 “Mark Malkoff Day” at its Los Gatos, CA, headquarters. Mark lives in New York City with his wife Christine, and his videos live at www.MyDamnChannel.com/MarkMalkoff.
