Webcast Group today announced the immediate availability of their NetPoint 5 HTTP streaming webinar platform. The company states this is a true cloud based HTTP streaming webinar service compatible with all popular computers and mobile devices.
NetPoint 5 uses industry standard HTTP streaming and HTML5 to deliver compatibility on Windows, OSX, Linux, Android and IOS computers and mobile devices. The technology used is HDS and HLS HTTP streaming with injected metadata for slide control. The company states this advanced slide and presentation control conforms to new HTML5 standards eliminates the need for special downloads.
“We are very excited to bring this new technology to market” states Ray Harris, CEO. “We have been using HTML streaming for some time now and the addition of injected meta data from a simple web based presentation web page brings our technology to the front of the industry.” Mr. harris went on to say the technology has been in development for over two years and is the first slide and streaming media solution to run inside a true HTTP streaming platform.

NetPoint 5 is a managed webinar service aimed at clients wanting a premium webinar event. Every NetPoint 5 included a dedicated producer, real time viewer technical support and HTTP streaming for up to 1000 viewers. Slides are web pages that can include polls, forms, converted PPT presentations and third party URLs.
