New Vid.ly API for Data on “Views” of Each Customer Video
San Francisco, CA(08 Feb 2012)
Encoding.com, the world’s largest video encoding service and provider of the
Vid.ly universal video URL platform, announced a set of valuable new analytics features for Vid.ly Pro customers. The Vid.ly analytics feature set provides video statistics, for a specific date range, across mobile device and browser platforms per Vid.ly URL, per a group of URLs, or for an entire account.
“Video analytics has been the most highly-anticipated feature request since we launched Vid.ly Pro this past summer,” said Jeff Malkin, president at Encoding.com. “The new Vid.ly analytics package gives our customers powerful information about the viewing of their videos, providing specific insight into their customer base, which helps them make better decisions on content development.”
The Vid.ly universal video platform solves the complexities of delivering video to HTML5 browsers and mobile devices. The new Vid.ly analytics package provides an analysis of Vid.ly viewership data across 6,000 mobile devices and browsers. The aggregate analytics on Vid.ly views has revealed interesting industry trends, such as a dramatic gain in mobile video viewing from Android OS-based devices versus Apple iOS devices, announced by Encoding.com last month. The API call “GetStatistics” is used to access data on a customer’s single Vid.ly URL, a group of URLs, or all URLs, for any date interval. The API allows customers to customize the real-time data and easily integrate it into existing systems and media workflow.
