PeerApp, the leader in Internet content caching infrastructure, today announced it has closed a deal worth approximately five million dollars for caching infrastructure with an operating unit of a Tier One cable operator. PeerApp’s award-winning UltraBand transparent caching solution is being used to guarantee subscriber quality of experience (QoE) for this large multiple-system operator (MSO). Operator caching plays an important role at the edge of service provider networks by intelligently caching and bringing the most frequently requested Internet content closer to the subscriber.
UltraBand is the only caching solution that supports video, HTTP file downloads, software updates and peer-to-peer traffic in a single platform. It is the most scalable platform in the industry, and it is fully transparent to preserve application logic and ensure freshness of content.
