PeerApp names Gadi Tamari as new CEO

Current chairman of the board takes on CEO role for Market Leader in Content Caching

Newton, MA(05 Jun 2014)

PeerApp today announced that Gadi Tamari has been named CEO, succeeding Robert Mayer. Tamari has served as PeerApp’s Chairman of the Board for the last four years.

Gadi Tamari brings more than 35 years of experience to the role of CEO at PeerApp. As CEO and board director of Radvision (RVSN), Tamari oversaw the doubling of revenues and quadrupling of company value. Tamari also served as a vice president at Lucent Technologies (LU) where he was responsible for global sales of the next generation Softswitch. Before that, Tamari was the COO of Excel Switching (XLSW) prior to the company’s acquisition by Lucent.

“I want to thank Robert Mayer for his many significant contributions to the company during his tenure as founder and CEO,” said Tamari.

Today, Internet video consumption is exploding, driven by services like YouTube, Netflix and HBO, across all types of broadband networks, including both fixed and mobile. At the same time, consumers are looking for better Quality of Experience (QoE). To respond, operators are rolling out next-generation broadband architectures based on Network Functions Virtualization and Software-Defined Networking (NFV/SDN) and are looking to embed content delivery capabilities into their last-mile networks. PeerApp is now delivering the next-generation content delivery solution to both a multitude of small service providers as well as to Global Tier 1 Communications Service Providers (CSPs).

Tamari concludes, “PeerApp is best positioned to deliver on this vision, leveraging more than one thousand successful deployments all over the world, together with the strategic partnerships we forged across the content delivery and broadband ecosystems.”

Market analyst firm Frost & Sullivan has named PeerApp the market leader in transparent caching (TC) with 27% market share in their 2013 “Analysis of the Global Transparent Caching Market” report.
