Piksel Flytecast Lands at NAB 2014 Taking Live Event Production to New Heights
Live Event Production and Streaming Takes Flight With Unprecedented Control and Agility
LAS VEGAS, NV(09 Apr 2014)
Piksel, a global provider of video monetization software and services, today revealed the newest addition to the Piksel Palette – Piksel Flytecast – a nimble solution for capturing, mixing, and broadcasting video content on-the-fly at the National Association of Broadcasters Show.
“At Virtual Scout, we deliver live and video on demand content of student athletes for personal development, coaching, and potential recruitment to higher levels. Getting kids access to their HD footage so they take their game to the next level is predicated by the quality of the video but also how easy it is to capture and deliver. After seeing a demonstration of Piksel Flytecast, I’m excited to say that it fits our application perfectly – giving our local facilities the ability to deal with the production, encoding and ingest with a limited physical footprint, but also deliver the play-out seamlessly – all in one solution,” said Tyson Nash, President of Hockey Operations, Virtual Scout.
Integrated with the Piksel Video Platform, the introduction of Piksel Flytecast builds on Piksel’s market leading capability in live event streaming. Harnessing the opportunity for real time HD quality video production and streaming without the hassle of carrying multiple pieces of bulky equipment, combining a switcher, live event producer, recorder, encoder, broadcaster, and post-production workstation into an affordable all-in-one solution about the size and weight of a ream of paper.
With direct ingest of up to six fixed cameras, Piksel Flytecast can also collect video from smart phones, Google Glass, and other IP-based video software such as Skype, giving producers unlimited access to roving ‘behind the scenes’ and user generated content (UGC) for their live broadcast. Transitioning between video sources in real time is easy with an intuitive iPad app for unprecedented flexibility. Seamless integration with the SaaS based Piksel Video Platform means all Piksel Flytecast recordings are managed in the same place as other video assets, giving greater control to measure and monetize content more effectively.
“Content creators are looking for ways to deliver better, more exciting live experiences. By taking advantage of Piksel’s cloud based technology, deep understanding of broadcast and broadband video solutions, and experience in streaming over 40,000 live events annually, they can capitalize on the digital revolution. Piksel Flytecast is an all-in-one solution that allows live event producers to bring more content to market, more quickly, and on more devices. From ingest to play-out, the process is streamlined for maximum portability, capability and agility,” explained Mark Portu, Piksel’s Chief Product Officer.
