RAMP, the leader in next generation search and video experiences, announced today the availability of RAMP MetaPlayer for the Brightcove (NASDAQ: BCOV) Video Cloud online video platform. This new implementation of RAMP’s MetaPlayer Framework enables Brightcove Video Cloud customers to quickly deploy interactive video player features that leverage time-based video metadata. This includes features such as in-video search, word/phrase jump points, contextual advertising, and related content spotlighting. RAMP MetaPlayer for Brightcove Video Cloud also supports Web closed captioning that complies with the recently enacted 21st Century Video and Communications Accessibility Act.
RAMP is demonstrating a live implementation of RAMP MetaPlayer for Brightcove Video Cloud at this year’s Brightcove PLAY global customer conference in Boston, June 25-27th. The implementation on Entercom Communication Corporation’s flagship sports media site, WEEI.com, highlights the engaging user experiences made possible by integrating time-based metadata with the interactive player features of RAMP MetaPlayer for Brightcove Video Cloud.
According to Entercom’s vice president of Digital Media, Tim Murphy, “Brightcove Video Cloud and RAMP’s metadata and search services have both been central to the success of WEEI’s online strategy. The tight integration of the Brightcove and RAMP services means we can more quickly deliver high-value video player experiences that include features like dynamic advertising, related content, and other forms of contextual targeting.”
“RAMP and Brightcove have been partners for a long time and, as the needs of our customers have evolved, it’s been important that our integration has evolved as well,” said Tom Wilde, RAMP CEO. “Our MetaPlayer framework easily integrates with Brightcove Video Cloud and delivers a powerful set of features to online video publishers.”
“We are proud to partner with innovators like RAMP to provide our customers with advanced options to deliver highly engaging online video experiences to audiences on all screens,” said Chris Johnston, director of digital media solutions and partnerships at Brightcove. “We look forward to RAMP showcasing the new integration at our Brightcove PLAY 2012 global customer conference this week.”
