SSIMWAVE Joins AWS ISV Accelerate Program

Emmy Award-winning company further cooperates with AWS to boost customer results

Waterloo(12 Jan 2022)

SSIMWAVE® today announced that it has joined the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Accelerate Program, a co-sell program for AWS Partners who provide software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS. The program helps partners drive new business and accelerate sales cycles by connecting the participating ISVs with the AWS Sales organization.

SSIMWAVE’s participation in the AWS ISV Accelerate Program enables the company to meet customer needs by working with AWS. Close cooperation with AWS will enable SSIMWAVE to provide better outcomes to its customers, as both teams work together.

Content creators and content distributors can migrate workflows to the cloud while ensuring that the quality of the content is preserved. SSIMWAVE’s Video Experience Automation platform helps customers avoid quality issues, reprocessing, and cost uncertainty while increasing efficiency and scalability.

The relationship pairs the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud offering with SSIMWAVE’s best-in-class quality metric and automation capabilities, and results in a powerful solution for enabling assessment of video quality at scale. Studios, broadcasters, over-the-top media services (OTTs) and aggregators can benefit as AWS and SSIMWAVE deliver targeted quality while reducing costs and allowing for more flexibility and security.

SSIMWAVE’s Video Experience Automation Platform brings the power of the human eye to entire video delivery chains to help streaming services assess video quality at scale, minimize quality drop-offs, and reduce distribution expenses and video quality assurance costs.  Its SSIMPLUS® suite of products – Live Monitor, ?VOD Monitor, and Video Quality (VQ) Dial – have also helped the streaming industry address hard-to-solve problems such as banding, audio/video (A/V) sync issues, high dynamic range (HDR) content distribution, and low quality sources.

SSIMWAVE technology has earned multiple prestigious awards in 2021, including a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for work in Development of Perceptual Metrics for Video Encoding Optimization; an NAB Product of the Year Award for SSIMPLUS Video Quality Dial as Best New Streaming Technology; and an NAB Best in Market Award for SSIMPLUS® Live Monitor. Dr. Zhou Wang, Chief Science Officer and co-founder of SSIMWAVE, previously had been presented with an Engineering Emmy Award by the Television Academy for his role in inventing the Structural Similarity (SSIM) Video Quality Measurement Model.

“With unprecedented content growth and abundance of video consumption options available to viewers, video quality has gone from nice-to-have to must-have. With SSIMWAVE’s offerings, the media and entertainment industry can ensure customer delight by efficiently delivering targeted quality at scale in an automated fashion,” said Dr. Abdul Rehman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of SSIMWAVE. “As a member of the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, we have access to a trove of new resources that will help us increase the adoption and the value of our products for the industry at large.”
