Sovee Now Offering Online Video Closed Captioning Solutions to Help Companies Comply with New Government Requirements

There's now an easy, one-stop solution from Sovee: Video translation, Closed Captioning, and rapid transcoding with at least 30% compression and no visual degradation.

Chattanooga, TN(19 Apr 2013)

Chattanooga, Tenn. (April XX, 2013)—Sovee, a premier provider of cloud-based translation and video encoding services, announced today that it has added three closed captioning options to its popular video translation offering. The new services will help companies comply with the new 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act, which requires most full-length programming shown on the Internet to include captioning.

"Video translation removes one communication barrier – the language barrier - but still leaves the video inaccessible for people who are deaf or hearing impaired,” said Scott Gaskill, president of Sovee. “Sovee's closed captioning solutions remove that barrier while helping businesses distribute video on the Internet in a way that is compliant with the 21st Century Communications and Video Act.”

Sovee's Premium closed captioning service starts with a time-coded transcription of a video followed by translation into any of the more than 50 languages through Sovee's proprietary Smart Engine. The translation is reviewed and post-editing, by one of Sovee's global network of 200 native-speaking translators. Next the video is transcoded, making it compatible with all mobile and desktop platforms. This transcoding also compresses the size of the video file significantly while maintaining its visual quality. The final translated video is delivered promptly to the customer in closed caption format.

Sovee will also offer a Plus service, which includes Premium transcription, translation and transcoding services, allowing companies to use their own resources to review and post-edit translation through Sovee's easy, cloud-based interface.

For companies that already have video captioned in English or any other language, Sovee's Pro offering provides translation of existing captions and returns the translated video in closed captioning format.

"Sovee's flexible business model for closed captioning delivers multiple solutions tailored to fit any company's needs and budget,” continued Gaskill. “Offering our proprietary transcoding as part of the service also saves customers a step and provides encoding and compression that is superior to what's available anywhere in the market. This means the video can be accessible to the viewer on virtually any device, from PC to Mac, mobile phone to tablet. At a time when more Americans are viewing content on mobile phones rather than on desktops, transcoding for these devices is essential "
