Broadcasters can Immediately Deliver Live HD Video to Viewers Using Streambox Cloud Services
Amsterdam, 12 September 2014—Streambox, the leading provider of solutions that enable mobile video anywhere, today announced that Streambox Avenir Mini 3 and the Avenir Mini 3c are generally available. The Streambox Avenir Mini 3 and Mini 3C are the latest in the Avenir family of products. The Avenir Mini 3 includes additional 3G/4G connectivity capabilities and the Avenir Mini 3C is a lower cost miniature encoder with no embedded modems. The Mini 3c performs as a dedicated mobile encoder for live video transmissions using SNG, DNG, Wi-Fi and Internet with both 3G/4G embedded and USB modem support. Both the Avenir Mini 3 and Avenir Mini 3C provide significantly faster encoding for HD and SD broadcasting. Coupled with the Streambox mobile app and Streambox Cloud Services, these compact mobile encoders give broadcasters the ability to immediately deliver live, HD video to viewers.
The Avenir Mini 3 ships with 5 embedded modems (up from 4 in the Avenir Mini 2), integrated Wi-Fi and a high gain antenna to significantly increase signal strength and ensure fast connectivity. These small devices have the ability to bond multiple IP networks including 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Internet and LAN.
“The Avenir Mini 3 pushes the small form factor even further,“ said Alex Telitsine , CTO and co-founder of Streambox. “We are bringing broadcasters a very compelling alternative to satellite trucks and microwave transport, with increased mobility and no recurring costs, to address their growing need for mobile video everywhere.”
Simultaneous Streaming on a Variety of Networks
The Avenir Mini 3 supports simultaneous streaming across several networks to allow the transmission of low latency, high quality video with more bandwidth and reliability. Modems are embedded in Streambox Signal Extenders so the proprietary Streambox Low Delay Multi-Path technology (LDMP) sends out to modems. The Avenir Mini 3 has a modem detector that sends information to LDMP. Streambox Encoders automatically select the best possible bandwidth, latency, and resolution over multiple IP networks, allowing Streambox products to seamlessly handle the network bandwidth fluctuations and dropouts that are often seen over public or shared network environments. The Avenir Mini 3c ships without any modems for a significant cost savings for customers that only need to connect to corporate networks, Ethernet, and satellite.
