T Group Productions Acquires Digital House Big Boots Studios, Launches Digital Studio TGM
Culver City, CA (07 Dec 2017)
T Group Productions announced today it will acquire Big Boots Studios, one of the first studios dedicated to engagement platforms—entertainment and social media experiences rooted in the digital space. Since its founding in 2016 by Roger Mincheff and Anthony Kaan, the company has built digital channels and platforms for major networks, individual celebrities and athletes and entertainment companies.
T Group’s President Jenny Daly also announced it will establish its own digital studio, T Group Media (TGM). Mincheff will serve as President of TGM and report directly to Daly. In his new role, Mincheff will be charged with overseeing TGM's original content and building platforms for brand and relationship growth. The new studio exemplifies T Group’s commitment to prioritize digital and branded content, using momentum from recent projects such as the Sprint-sponsored Elevator Pitch for Entrepreneur Network and the Johnsonville-sponsored The Sausage Dome to create new revenue streams and opportunities.
TGM will build off of Big Boots success with partners such as Paradigm Sports Management whose clients include Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping and projects in development for brands such as Nick Cannon's Ncredible, Johnny Wright’s Wright Entertainment Group and the largest MCN and dance community online, DanceOn. Big Boots has also produced original content for the groundbreaking live music platform LiveXLive and their ambassadors, top social media influencers such as Amanda Cerny. In 2017, the studio also released the short State of Ward starring Dean Cain, the first scripted project created in partnership with a fund set up by Alqur Studios.
Mincheff and the TGM team will be based out of T Group’s Culver City office and work closely with Daly as well as Rob Lobl, Executive Vice President of Development and Current Programming, and David Kelleher, Executive Vice President and Head of Production.
“Roger’s skills and relationships in creating digital channels that engage a mass audience are second to none,“ said T Group President Jenny Daly. “This new studio allows T Group to serve as a one stop shop, offering a complete 360º approach for brands, talent and third party producers. Together, TGM and T Group will feed each other across digital and linear, utilizing both worlds to engage content across all media."
“These are chaotic times for studios and brands as their traditional models are fundamentally changing, but there is opportunity in chaos," said Roger Mincheff, President of T Group Media. "Because T Group’s vision is holistic and spans all media, TGM’s reach and resources will allow us to create partnerships of unprecedented value.”
The news comes hot on the heels of a busy year for T Group. The company recently received a series order for their successful special Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings (Freeform) and premiered the second season of Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour (A&E). Over the summer, the company created co-production partnerships with award winning producer Simon Lythgoe of Legacy Productions as well as public relations powerhouse Sunshine Sachs’ sister company Madica Productions. The company already has partnerships with Ann Roberts of Roberts Media, Jack Osbourne’s Osbourne Media, Natalka Znak of Znak&Co and Beth Greenwald of Wax World Media.
Kaan and Mincheff previously launched Relativity Digital Studios, producing short form, long form and digital feature film properties. Before Relativity, Mincheff led the creation of Fox Digital Studio and was President of Myspace Entertainment after engineering its sale to Specific Media and Justin Timberlake. A veteran producer, he has greenlit digital, TV and film properties including The Covenant (2006) and Vin Diesel’s The Ropes (2011). While at Relativity, Kaan oversaw a $5MM branded content production and integration budget for Relativity brand clients Evian and Badoit. He was previously a branded entertainment executive at Edelman, and represented some of the world’s most iconic brands including Coca-Cola and Hasbro at CAA.
