TalkPoint Reports a 74-percent Growth in 2011 of its Mobile Webcast Viewing

Increased use of smartphones and tablets accounts for rise in mobile webcasts

New York, NY(18 Jan 2012)

TalkPoint, the leader in global communications technology, specializing in browser-based audio and video webcasting, announced today that mobile viewership of TalkPoint-produced webcasts between the first quarter and the fourth quarter of 2011 increased by 74 percent.

The near three-quarters growth can be partially attributed to the months of June and July, during which the biggest mobile webcast growth occurred, accounting for 33 percent of all mobile views in 2011. October and November were a close second, encompassing 31 percent of all mobile presentations for 2011.

The debut of Apple's iPad in April 2010 and the subsequent release of the iPad 2 in March 2011 also caused a dramatic increase in the number of mobile webcasts. Additionally, as more smartphones and tablets are introduced to the market, the flexibility and broader audience reach associated with mobile access has become essential for corporate enterprises.

More than 18 months ago, TalkPoint responded to clients' feedback and advanced its technology to transmit live and on-demand webcasts to tablets and smartphones including (but not limited to) iPhones, iPads and Android devices. The mobile delivery option, and its interactive features like Q&As, surveys, polling and social media functions, has helped clients better connect with sales teams, shareholders and other constituencies on-the-go, in a 24/7 news cycle environment, from various locations around the globe.

"TalkPoint is the one-stop shop for our webcasting needs," said Libby McDannell, executive director, American Society of Transplantation. "Webcasts offer our members access to education 24/7, and adding the mobile option only enhances our educational portfolio."

"Our 2011 data indicates that mobile technology adoption is growing rapidly," said TalkPoint CEO, Nick Balletta. "Tablets and smartphones are now the norm, and we are happy to have pioneered the mobile webcasting technology that delivers to them. For more than a year, we have achieved our goal of making communication easier for our clients and their viewers."
