Illustrious speakers to share their knowledge of social TV at the biggest event on connected entertainment

The world's leading connected entertainment event, IP&TV World Forum, today announces that industry giants Twitter and foursquare will feature in its already impressive speaker line-up of over 250 media guests.

General Manager of Twitter UK Tony Wang is confirmed to deliver a keynote on day one of the event. Wang, who manages the UK operations for one of the world's largest communications platform, is responsible for establishing and developing the brand in the UK. With over 100 million active users Twitter is one of the leading tools by which social TV is evolving. Increasingly broadcasters are using a programme hashtag as another form of brand promotion for their shows.

Omid Ashtari, Business Development Director at foursquare, is set to present on how brands can engage with their consumers. Foursquare is central to the development of social, local and mobile networks bringing these into the broadcaster sphere. Ashtari, who spent seven years with Google before joining foursquare, will give an overview of the company's platform and examples of how broadcasters and movie studios have used it to engage with consumers in new and interesting ways.

"The integration of social behaviour and television is having a huge effect on audience habits and goes one step further in creating the cyber environment. Subsequently there's massive scope for broadcasters and advertisers to utilise and benefit from these evolving and interactive viewing habits," comments Ashtari.

Now in its eighth year, IP&TV World Forum will take place at London's Olympia on 20 -22 March. It will provide international networking opportunities with service providers and broadcasters from varied platform backgrounds - Smart TV, OTT, cable, satellite and terrestrial TV - to compare experiences and brainstorm solutions for delivering multiscreen and multiplatform services.
