Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted market leader for lecture capture, enterprise and event webcasting, today announced the Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association (UCISA) has selected Mediasite by Sonic Foundry to be their exclusive webcasting partner.

UCISA is located at the University of Oxford in England and represents nearly all the major United Kingdom universities and higher education colleges. With a growing membership of educational institutions and commercial organizations, it promotes excellence in the application of information systems and services in support of teaching, learning, research and administration in higher education.

Under the partnership, UCISA will use live webcasting via Mediasite to bring educational programs to new online audiences. "Being able to stream our event sessions live and on-demand is of great benefit to both our in person and online attendees. Participants have the facility to go back and review the sessions whenever and wherever they want so having this online component expands our reach and increases the number of participants," said Sue Fells, Business and Operations Manager at UCISA. "In the current economic situation, we understand that budget constraints sometime prohibit people from travelling and having this facility also supports our green credentials. By webcasting our events via Mediasite, delegates are able to participate from their office, home and mobile devices."

Two UCISA events from 2011 are publically available:
