VBrick Adds Industry-Leading Innovations to its Rev Enterprise Video Platform
Native Flash Multicast, Live Webcasting with Mass Audience Interaction, WebEx Integration and Enhanced eCDN Capabilities Highlight New Features
Herndon(13 Oct 2015)
VBrick today unveiled live webcasting, user experience and video network distribution advances in its Rev next-generation enterprise video platform that further enable organizations to use broadcast-quality video, securely and cost-effectively, over their own private networks.
Rev enables organizations to unleash the power of video to educate, inform and inspire employees anywhere and on any device. Its ease of use increases engagement and adoption by delivering the same consumer-grade experience employees expect from their use of video and social media sites. Customers can stream high quality live and on-demand video across their own networks using Rev’s embedded eCDN capabilities, which ensure that video uses the least possible bandwidth.
Enterprise Live Webcasting
Team Moderated Audience Interaction - VBrick pioneers a new, Team Moderator concept in Rev that enables multiple moderators to manage audience interaction as a scalable, coordinated team. The new capability enables system administrators to focus on running the event itself, while moderators use a built-in priority and status system to manage and answer the potentially hundreds of questions submitted by audiences.
Network-Friendly Video Distribution:
Flash Multicast – Enterprise customers can access Adobe Flash multicasting natively through the VBrick Distributed Media Engine (DME) without requiring separate server licensing and without loading special stream receivers or proprietary players. Flash multicasting also provides encrypted streaming, giving customers another layer of security for their live broadcasts.
DME Health Monitoring and Smart Caching – Rev now provides a centralized dashboard that provides a real-time view of the health of all DMEs on their network. Additionally, new DME Mesh capabilities enable video content location and first-request caching. This lets administrators selectively pre-position content, and enables DMEs to locate and pull that requested content from the closest peer on the network – saving bandwidth and storage.
Akamai Integration – Rev customers can now opt to use Akamai authorization for secure internet streaming to reach viewers outside the firewall for live webcasts, website-hosted videos and to serve mobile users.
Unified Communications Integration:
WebEx Integration - Rev customers can enable WebEx integration to allow their viewers to upload recorded WebEx files into Rev for secure and scalable sharing across the organization.
Modern, Dynamic Video Experience
Enhanced UI – Numerous enhancements include collapsed navigation bars for system administrators and moderators, and toggling between content views during live webcasts – all via Rev’s responsive design, which optimizes content viewing and system operation regardless of device – from PCs to smartphones.
“Our vision for Rev was to give customers a platform that could truly grow and scale with their burgeoning video communications,” said Shelly Heiden, CEO of VBrick. “Today’s announcement illustrates the flexibility and adaptability of Rev, and our ongoing commitment to be the industry’s most innovative and integrated enterprise video platform,” Heiden said.
As the industry’s first, cloud-native platform for enterprise video, VBrick Rev allows organizations to rapidly deploy their own video management system (in days, versus months) without incurring the infrastructure costs, staffing requirements and system downtime required to deploy and maintain traditional server-based, on premise products.
