VBrick Systems Awarded U.S. Patent for Innovative Real-Time Video Compression Technology

Groundbreaking Technology Optimizes Video Output Without Disrupting Network Resources

Wallingford, CT(31 Aug 2010)

IP video technology leader VBrick Systems today announced that its real-time video compression technology has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 7,751,482. The patent recognizes VBrick's novel encoding algorithms used during the compression of streaming video which enable the production of high quality images for the viewer.

The issue faced when compressing streaming video is how to best optimize the quality of the final image given its real-time nature. In a typical real-time encoder, there is limited CPU power to efficiently compress incoming video streams. VBrick's patented technology which specifically addresses the challenge of motion estimation supports the delivery of high quality video (up to 1080p) while minimizing delay. Motion estimation is the most challenging and compute-intensive aspect of the H.264 algorithm.

This patented technology powers VBrick's integrated suite of H.264 solutions for the creation, delivery and consumption of live or on-demand IP video streaming for enterprise customers.

"Our skilled engineers work tirelessly to ensure customers experience the richest streaming experience with minimal disruptions to their corporate environment," said John Shaw, Chief Operating Officer, VBrick. "This patent not only validates and celebrates our team's hard work, but underscores VBrick's commitment to continued innovation in the IP video streaming space."
