VIDIZMO and Vivoh Partner With an Eye on Multicast Delivery

VIDIZMO’s new partnership with Vivoh will target a market gap through multicast delivery.

Tyson, Virginia(06 May 2019)

Streaming Media East Conference, New York City, NY, May 7, 2019 – The rising adoption of video in the enterprise has organizations scurrying to meet business demands for high-quality video streaming and distribution. As an expanding number of corporations use video for employee training, communication, collaboration, and live event webcasting, they experience network inefficiencies, and bandwidth congestion challenges that negatively affect the user experience, productivity, and the overall benefit to be gained from video-based communications. Moreover, with the expanding instance and pervasiveness of mobile streaming and BYOD culture across organizations, there is an even pressing need to deliver high-quality content swiftly and reliably to all user devices.

VIDIZMO, a Microsoft Gold Application Development & Cloud Partner, recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Video Content Management, focusing in Streaming Media Management with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Cognitive Technologies, and Vivoh have announced a partnership. Whereby VIDIZMO will resell and support Vivoh's Open Source and Future Source technologies for multicast video streaming to desktops. Without browser plugins and to Linux-based ThinClient devices with Citrix Virtual Desktops.

"We recognized a gap in the market for next generation multicast delivery without Flash that does not depend upon legacy Java technology and which is supported on Linux-based ThinClient devices running Citrix VDI. Many large enterprises are moving to VDI and still want to support multicast streaming but are not willing to continue supporting Flash and Java technology due to security issues," said Vivoh founder, Chris Dawson.

Multicasting not only optimizes the performance of networks but also provides enhanced efficiency by controlling the traffic on networks and reducing the loads on network devices.

“Following on from our recent announcement with Wowza (https://www.wowza.com/blog/vidizmo), we heard from our customers that they wanted to use Wowza servers to broadcast video via multicast and receive this video in the browser without plugins and Java running on the desktop. VIDIZMO provides the enterprise-grade management platform for both live streaming and video on demand with unique cognitive-powered features for search and recommendations. Now our customers can also benefit from Wowza and Vivoh technology as part of one, tightly-integrated, solution."
