VidCaster debuts connected TV app maker at Google I/O and VidCon

San Francisco, CA(27 Jun 2012)

Online video platform and video site builder VidCaster will be debuting its latest online video innovation at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco on Wednesday and at VidCon in Anaheim on Thursday and Friday.

VidCaster’s new technology allows VidCaster customers to easily make their content available as a branded app on Android-powered connected TVs and set-top boxes.

“Our goal is to make it easy for content creators, companies and agencies to publish their videos wherever their viewers or employees are,” VidCaster CEO and Co-Founder Kieran Farr said. “With Android quickly emerging as the platform of choice for television manufacturers, we knew the time was right to give our users the tools they need to tap into this fast-growing market,” Farr explained.

VidCaster, a venture backed startup known for helping organizations create branded video sites, makes this announcement following two big client wins: mmorpg.com, the leading site for news about massively multiplayer online role-playing games, and the MIT Enterprise Forum.

“It has become apparent that the old model for video platforms — a player paired with a CDN — is a commodity,” Farr said. “Our modularized suite of products ranging from a turnkey hosted video website solution, HTML5 multi-platform video player, to deep integrations with technical platforms such as YouTube and Brightcove have allowed us to create truly comprehensive solutions for our customers.”

VidCaster’s new connected TV app is designed to make it easy for VidCaster’s clients to deliver critical video content no matter what device their viewer chooses.

VidCaster will be demoing their entire product suite along with the new app maker at Google I/O and VidCon. A video of the demo will be posted at http://blog.vidcaster.com
