Viddiverse, A Safe, Online Video Network Exclusively For Kids, Premieres This Week

Hundreds of hours of kid-friendly shows plus user generated programming by kids, a video toolbox, and the opportunity to share

NEW YORK(06 May 2014)

Viddiverse (www.viddiverse.com), a safe, video site for kids 8 to 13, premieres today, bringing together hundreds of professionally-created, kid-friendly videos plus elements of familiar social media destinations where kids can upload their own user generated videos and enhance them with a cool set of tools including mustaches, picture frames, funny backgrounds and more.  Viddiverse also offers kids the opportunity to build profiles and share content.  Started by entrepreneur Malcolm Bird, a former Nickelodeon executive who founded and built AOL Kids & Teens into the #1 kids network in the nation, Viddiverse is the culmination of his 28 years of work as a childrens' programmer and start up executive.

Says Bird, "Viddiverse is what a kids online environment should be – a COPPA compliant, walled environment with lots of kid-friendly content, the ability for tweens to upload their own videos and customize them a la Instagram, and for parents not to be concerned about what their kids are seeing online.  If cable hadn't been invented, this is what kids' entertainment would be."

The site meets all the standards of COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.  It requires parental approval; it doesn't collect any personal information from children, and it will not link to non-Coppa sites. Bird envisions a world where kids can create their own videos and upload them in a non-threatening environment and brands can advertise there without concerns about brand-safety and the possibility of "inappropriate adjacencies."

The site will premiere with episodes of the following shows:

Totally Amp'd

Braceface

Class of Titans

Unlikely Heroes

Grossology

Janet's Planet

Skatoony

Ned's Newt

Dani's House

Being Ian

Ruby Gloom

Summer in Transylvania

Donkey Kong Country

Wild C.A.T.S.

Tricky TV

Pelwick

Dog City/QPiz

In addition, Viddiverse will also feature music videos and a daily three hour live video show featuring D.J. Rick Adams, who successfully hosted a show on AOL's Radio KOL with more than one million kids listening each week.
