Vizrt enhances Viz Media Engine and integrates with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 software

Bergen, Norway(05 Sep 2012)

At IBC 2012, Vizrt Ltd., Hall 7 Booth A10, will display new tools to show the integration between Viz Media Engine and AdobePremiere Pro CS6 software. At NAB, earlier this year, Vizrt announced a new integration that gives editors more efficient productivity by allowing them to search and select source material from Viz Media Engine within Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. This integration has been further enhanced to allow Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 access to EDLs in Viz Media Engine as well as the capability to stage offline media.

Access to EDLs

Newsroom editorial staff can perform rough-cuts of video content using the Viz PreCut and Viz EasyCut proxy editors within their newsroom systems. When the assets are saved to the Viz Media Engine the EDL is sent along with the metadata. Editors using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 can now open these EDLs and finish the edit.

Stage offline media

News editors not only have to quickly edit material coming in each day, they need to access archived material. Older content is usually moved to long-term storage (LTO) once a story has aired. Retrieving this content can be cumbersome requiring the transfer and transcoding of the files from one system to another before the editor can work with it again. The Viz Media Engine extension in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 now allows editors to trigger staging of offline media for a complete timeline.

Adobe and Vizrt will be demonstrating some of these at both of their booths during IBC 2012. Adobe is atHall 7, Stand 7.G27.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is Adobe’s non-linear video editing software. Built on the Mercury Playback Engine, it leverages both CPU and GPU to provide high-performance, real-time playback for virtually all native file formats including  time filters and effects on both Macintosh and PC laptops or workstations.

Viz Media Engine provides the broadcaster with a proven file-based workflow that enables production, management, and delivery of media to broadcast, mobile, and web that can be performed from any desktop. It integrates with numerous third-party products and supports a number of scalable storage solutions. This, combined with comprehensive APIs, gives you an extensive toolbox to integrate existing systems and workflows.
