iStreamPlanet Chosen by NBC Sports to Manage Live Sporting Events Online

Las Vegas(28 Jun 2011)

iStreamPlanet, a leader in live internet broadcast services and automated video workflow solutions, announced it was chosen to participate in the live web broadcasts of The French Open and the Championships, Wimbledon.

"NBC Sports is pleased to be collaborating once again with iStreamPlanet for these two major tennis tournaments," said Eric Black, Director of Digital Operations for NBC Sports & Olympics. "As we continue to expand our live streaming business, iStreamPlanet has been a valued partner who has brought operational excellence and the industry know-how we needed to create some of the most innovative and engaging online video experiences for our users."

iStreamPlanet will once again capitalize on their Video Workflow Automation Platform (VWAP) to automate the acquisition, encoding and publishing of the live HD feed via satellite in their Broadcast Operations Center in Las Vegas. This year, from its recently announced state-of-the art European Broadcast Operations Center located inside of Interxion's Data Center in London, iStreamPlanet will be using VWAP to also manage three standard definition outer court cam feeds pulled in via satellite downlink. iStreamPlanet will be providing the IIS Origin Services for the live Microsoft IIS Smooth Streaming from Las Vegas for the Championships, Wimbledon as it did last month for The French Open.

"We are excited to once again be working with NBC Sports on Wimbledon this year in addition to having worked with them last month on the French Open," said Mio Babic, CEO of iStreamPlanet. "Having just announced our round of financing led by Intel Capital, we are now in an even better position to bring new and innovative solutions to NBC Sports and enable them to distribute and monetize on their content across multiple platforms and a growing number of IP connected devices."
