iStreamPlanet Senior VP to Discuss Benefits of Cloud-Based Live Sports Content Delivery at TranSPORT 2012
LAS VEGAS (30 Oct 2012)
iStreamPlanet, a leading provider of live and on-demand streaming-video solutions, today announced that its senior vice president of strategy and business development, Chris Carper, will participate in a panel discussion at TranSPORT 2012, the sports industry's only event dedicated to sports professionals whose job duties include transport and distribution of video and audio content via TV, the Internet, and more. Titled "Riding the Net: Transport Over the Open Internet and In the Cloud," the session will take place Nov. 13 at 5-5:30 p.m.
Carper brings to the panel iStreamPlanet's perspective as a long-time provider of sports-specific, live online streaming. iStreamPlanet was responsible for the Super Bowl's first live online broadcast earlier this year, and has been a multiyear streaming provider for the Olympics, the Kentucky Derby, and the Tour de France.
The panel will address how today's cloud-based transport technologies make distributing content over the Internet an intriguing, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient proposition for sports rights-holders. Panelists will explore the advances and challenges in Internet transport, and how sports operations can take advantage of the technology available today.
Carper's fellow panelists will be Dave Almstead, CEO of ONE CONNXT, and Mark Overington, president of North America operations at Aframe. Ryan Korte, principal architect of Level 3 Vyvx Services, will moderate the discussion.
